Members connected over the question of whether the COVID vaccine may have triggered or worsened myasthenia gravis, with a wide range of personal experiences shared from both those who got vaccinated and those who did not. Several members described developing MG symptoms after receiving COVID shots, while others noted their MG appeared after getting COVID itself, and some long-time MG patients reported no issues with vaccines at all. A recurring theme was deep uncertainty about the cause, with many finding comfort in community support and focusing on managing stress, advocating for themselves with their doctors, and taking each day as it comes.

I've had all the shots and am about to get another because I'm immunocompromised. I also had COVID at the very beginning and was in ICU for a month, on oxygen for 18 months & a walker for 15 months after getting out of the hospital. I have permanent scarring in my lungs from the blood clots caused by the Covid pneumonia. So my doctors decided in my case it was better for me to get the shots than risk another bout of Covid. I haven't had any problem with the shots. But I usually get them in my doctors office so they can observe me for an hour or two to make sure I'm not going to have problems.

Denis has had all recommended vaccines (me too) with no adverse side effects and has had MG since 1988. We feel that with his compromised immune system he will take all the precautions/help available.

I am a huge advocate of medicine that positively affects one's immune system.

I think that's a good choice. Carol
I have never had any I was afraid to since the vaccines were so new.
I almost did twice but twice something stopped me. Something came up and I figured that was a sign. I better heed the warning.
Have a wonderful day. Carol

John, are you on vyvgart?
And if so how long have you been on it and how do you feel?
I recently started back on mestinon and discovered I can't take it .
The leg cramps and twitching at night are so severe.
I've looked up the next option for double vision and it seems to be vyvgart.
The side effects of vyvgart scare me.
Of course, none of the medications for this disease are good.
But I think that at this point I have got to do something and try and get in to see my neurologist as soon as I can.
I am interested in knowing how you are doing
Have a good day at work my friend. Talk to you soon
