Diagnosed 2 weeks ago but I have been living with most of my symptoms for 10 years with the exception of the crazy muscle weakness that I have had since July.

Do heart palpitations, brain fog, and anxiety occur with MG?

You're experiencing symptoms that many MGteam members report, even though they might seem unexpected with MG. Let's break down what's known:

Brain Fog

This is actually quite common with MG. Studies show about 60% of people with MG report memory difficulties, and many experience problems with concentration and mental fatigue. MGteam members frequently describe:

- Short-term memory issues
- Losing their train of thought
- Difficulty concentrating
- Feeling mentally drained

The brain fog may be related to acetylcholine receptor antibodies affecting brain function, poor sleep quality from MG, or even side effects from some MG treatments. Heart Symptoms

While less commonly discussed, MG can affect cardiac muscles and cause heart-related issues including arrhythmias (irregular heart rhythms), which could explain palpitations. One MGteam member even ended up in the ER thinking they were having a stroke, highlighting how MG can present in unexpected ways. Anxiety

Anxiety is commonly reported with MG and can worsen brain fog. Mental health conditions like depression and anxiety affect many people with MG, and the emotional challenges of living with an unpredictable condition can contribute to these feelings.

Since you're newly diagnosed but have had symptoms for years, it's really important to discuss all of these symptoms with your neurologist. They can help determine what's directly MG-related versus potential side effects or other factors, and adjust your treatment plan accordingly.
