That sounds really exhausting — dealing with whole-body muscle soreness on top of fatigue is a lot to manage. The good news is you're not alone in this experience, and there are some useful things to know.
Mestinon (pyridostigmine) is actually a known contributor to muscle cramps and soreness. Studies have shown that between 30% and 40% of people taking it report muscle cramps. The soreness can show up in:
- Eyes and face first
- Then spreading to the neck
- Arms and legs as well It's worth having a conversation with your neurologist about your current Mestinon dose. Sometimes adjusting the timing or dosage can make a real difference. As one MGteam member shared, switching from fewer higher doses to more frequent smaller doses helped ease their leg and feet cramps significantly.
CellCept (mycophenolate) is generally not linked to increased muscle pain or cramps, so Mestinon is the more likely culprit here.
Definitely bring this up with your care team — they may be able to tweak your treatment plan to help you feel more comfortable day to day.
