I had this Infusion times five days when I was in the hospital. It did not help. I had inhome infusion in September and that didn’t help. I was told it could take up to two months to get any benefits from it.

I am now waiting to be scheduled for plasmapharesis at Roswell in Buffalo To be followed by Ultomiris . My shortness of breath has gotten worse over the last 5 months despite medication and infusions.

I started out with Plasmasferesis. Worked great for 5-6 years. Suddenly developed Tacacardia so switcher to IVIG. Been great for the last five years. My biggest cencerns are extreme fatigue, muscle weakness.

Gamunex-C is a form of intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIg) used for myasthenia gravis. It works by introducing healthy antibodies into your bloodstream, which helps to temporarily reduce the harmful antibodies that attack the neuromuscular junction — the connection between your nerves and muscles that MG disrupts.

Think of it like borrowing a well-trained army to calm down your own overzealous one. 🛡️

As for whether it builds up over time, IVIg like Gamunex-C doesn't exactly "accumulate" in the traditional sense. Instead, each infusion provides a temporary boost of protective antibodies. The effects typically last a few weeks, which is why regular infusions are scheduled to maintain that benefit.

Some things worth knowing:

- Initial response can vary — some people notice improvement within days, others may take a few infusions to feel a meaningful difference
- Monthly infusions help maintain a more consistent level of symptom control
- Individual responses differ — what works quickly for one person may take longer for another

It's always a good idea to track your symptoms between infusions and share that information with your neurologist, so they can adjust the timing or dosage if needed.

Sandy, I've received the Uplizna infusion 4 months ago and seems to be working well. I still have some fatigue, some days better than others. But I can talk, breath, and swallow. Being that it's kind of newly approved for GMG, at lot the doctors have not heard of if. It would less taxing than plasmapharesis
