Yes, gastrointestinal issues are a well-known side effect of Mestinon! You're definitely not alone in this β€” it's one of the more commonly reported complaints among people taking it.

Mestinon works by boosting nerve-to-muscle signals, but it also affects the muscles in your digestive tract, which can cause:

- Stomach cramps
- Nausea
- Diarrhea
- Increased bowel activity
- General digestive discomfort (yes, including gas!) One MGteam member shared that taking a probiotic alongside Mestinon almost completely stopped their diarrhea β€” so that might be worth exploring.

It's also worth talking to your neurologist about your dosing schedule. Sometimes adjusting the timing or amount of each dose can help ease these side effects without sacrificing symptom control. Always check with your doctor before making any changes though!
