My husband has gMG, and is sterio negative. His gMG has mainly effected his breathing, and created serious muscle weakness. He is on the basic medications, and also has IVIG infusions for 5 days every three weeks. His Chiropractor recommend that he look into the Pompa Program, which is a holistic detox, 12 month program. He signed up 3/30/26 and things seemed to be going OK, until the actual detox portion was initiated. He had what I would call a catatonic breakdown, the detox portion is 3… read more

What a frightening experience to walk in on β€” and how right to start asking questions. For someone with seronegative gMG β€” especially where breathing and muscle weakness are primary symptoms β€” any program that triggers such a dramatic physical response is a serious red flag.

A few important points to consider:

- Detox programs are not medically recognized treatments for gMG
- Any supplement or protocol that affects the immune system could potentially interfere with his current treatments, including IVIG
- Breathing complications in gMG can escalate quickly and unpredictably
- His neurologist needs to know about this reaction immediately, if they don't already

His current treatment path β€” IVIG infusions and standard medications β€” is medically established for gMG. It's also worth knowing that for seronegative gMG specifically, there are newer and emerging treatment options being studied and approved that his neurologist may be able to discuss.

Please do loop in his neurology team before continuing any part of this program. His safety truly comes first here.
