I was just diagnosed with MG. I started seeing double vision back in August. I started taking Pyridostigmine this week. I am getting some relief. Does it get any better after taking the meds longer term, or basically after a few days, it is the best the vision will get? Will an increase in dosage make it better.
I noticed my eyes got better and a lot of my other symptoms when they added prednisone the steroid I’ve been on it now for maybe a month and a half. The issue is it’s increasing my blood glucose level way too high so they’re gradually decreasing it down and at the same time replacing it with CellCept. I still take the other 60 mg pill six times a day. My only issue I have right now is weakness some days I got energy other days none.
Hi George, for myself, the pyridostigmine worked within 30 min, I started taking 60mg 3x daily since July 2025, my droopy eye & double vision has not returned. I believe everyone's experience is different, for me it's working.
How does pyridostigmine help with double vision over time?
It's encouraging that you're already getting some relief! Pyridostigmine works by improving communication between nerves and muscles, which helps reduce muscle weakness around the eyes.
