Members widely confirmed experiencing heavy sweating as a side effect of Mestinon, with many describing episodes shortly after taking their dose, nighttime sweats that leave them drenched, and feeling hotter more easily overall, especially during summer heat. Several members shared their personal coping strategies, including using light body sprays, staying hydrated, and accommodating their body's shifting temperature needs by layering clothing on and off. A recurring theme was the frustrating trade-off of enduring uncomfortable side effects like sweating and occasional diarrhea because Mestinon remains an effective treatment for managing myasthenia gravis symptoms.

I’m not sure about heavy sweating, but I know Faye definitely stays warmer than before they put her on Mestinon. She used to wear a coat or jacket every day, even in the summer! Now she often wears just a light-weight short-sleeve top. And she has told me about a few times when she was surprised she had felt really hot.

I have been on mestinon for 23 years now. i take 60 mg 4 times a day. At this time it is working very well and I plan on making an appointment with the neurologist just check in. As far as side effects. I really haven't had any other than occasional diarrhea that doesn't last long. As far as the sweating, i am not sure if it was the medicine as I went through menopause shortly after being diagnosed. I was 40 when I found out i had mg and had a 16 month old baby to take care of. The drs think that the pregnancy brought the mg to the surface.
