Members responded with strong recognition to the question about whether Mestinon causes sweating and drooling, with the overwhelming consensus being yes, especially after dosage increases. Several members shared that night sweats, drooling on pillows, and even dripping hands were common experiences, with some finding relief through ceiling fans, daily naps, or sugar-free hydrating drinks to manage fatigue. A recurring theme was that while the side effects are a nuisance, most members felt the symptom control Mestinon provides is worth it, and they encouraged each other to keep going.

I was taking Mestinon 60mg x 3/day and glad to do it. I would be a hot mess otherwise. I now have an infusion of Rituximab x 2/year. I'm as good as I'm going to get. I'm in 2 classic rock bands and living my life again. I pray that each of you find the team that works for you.

Prior to Mestinon I had minimal sweating and drooling. I now have increased sweating and drooling, particularly at night, not severe but certainly increased. Having had a short period of time without Mestinon, I understand it is absolutely essential to help control my symptoms well. I think of it as a nuisance but completely would rather take the Mestinon than have an episode of serious symptoms!

I have been on 60 mg of Mestinon three times a day for three years. I have not experienced sweating or other things you describe.

Yes, excessive sweating and increased saliva/drooling are well-known side effects of Mestinon (pyridostigmine). It works by boosting a chemical that helps muscles contract, but that same chemical also stimulates sweat glands and saliva production — so more Mestinon can mean more of both!

Since the sweating started after a dosage increase, it's worth letting the doctor know. They may be able to:

- Adjust the timing of doses throughout the day
- Slightly lower the dosage if symptoms are manageable
- Discuss whether the current dose is the right balance for you

It's important not to adjust the dosage on your own without guidance, as Mestinon plays a key role in managing MG muscle weakness.

I take a nap each day maybe 45 min or just lie down and relax
