This journey started about 10 hrs ago. I try to stand after sitting for awhile, either I fall back into the chair or I can stand but my legs won't move. Can this be a symptom? Im confused.

My left shoulder and arm weakness is one side only. Neurologist does not think that is mg nor the three ugly rashes I have gotten over a one month that includes swelling of feet and legs. What do you think?

Yes, leg weakness can absolutely be a symptom of myasthenia gravis, so the confusion is completely understandable — especially when it comes on suddenly like this.

Yes, leg weakness can absolutely be a symptom of myasthenia gravis, so the confusion is completely understandable — especially when it comes on suddenly like this.

MG can affect the muscles in your arms, legs, and neck, making it hard to do things like stand up from a chair, walk, or climb stairs. Weakness that comes on quickly or feels unpredictable is something many people with MG experience. That said, because this started suddenly about 10 hours ago, it's really important to contact your neurology team or seek medical attention right away. Sudden or rapidly worsening weakness in MG can sometimes signal a more serious episode that needs prompt evaluation.

A few things worth noting:
- Weakness in MG often gets worse with activity and later in the day
- Rest can sometimes help temporarily
- Keeping track of when symptoms started and how they've changed will be helpful information for your doctor

Please don't wait on this one — reach out to your care team as soon as possible.

Hi Betsy Jo,
I have experienced similar to you and the MG team article speaks well to what you are experiencing. I woìuld talk to your MG doctor regarding your symptoms as soon as you can. You don't want to fall and get hurt. I am sorry for whatvyou are going through.

Ronda, from what you describe, and given your Neuroligist feedback,it sounds like maybe a visit to your primary care would be most helpful, especially if any of what you are experiencing is causing pain. You also don't want any of the leg rashes to get infected. Please check that they are not very red and hot.If any are, please get them checked as soon as possible.

I am not a doctor but have had symptoms like you both have described. Take care and ensure you listen to what your body is telling you/how you are feeling. With MG, keeping yourself well is one of the best ways to lower stress on your body and minimize the potential for crisis.
