Yes sorry harmless
Tou are experiencing Flashulasions, not sure on the spelling ,I experience them to even after 15 years on Mestinan. They are a aide effect of the stigmine and my neurologist stated they are not harmless. I experience them in my calfs and biceps. Looks like you are have multiple strings pulling different parts of muscle but under the skin. I also every now and then get jerky , like I was suddenly electrocuted.
This is good advice ,I make sure I don't take my last dose until5:00 and I go to bed at 11 sleep much better before I was taking my last dose about 8 and I was wired up when I went to bed , plus imy does was to high , now I have very little leg cramps, and haven't noticed any twitching at all❤
Hey CarolErdman
For me the fluttering and twitching was 2 things.
1. My dose was too high
2. I was taking it at bed time
My doc said to take it 1 hour before or after a meal and never before bed. Because its a muscle builder I/we need to move about after you take it. Depending on when your day starts and ends.
That twitching or fluttering feeling after taking Mestinon (pyridostigmine) is actually related to how the medication works. Mestinon increases the amount of acetylcholine available at the nerve-muscle junction, which helps muscles contract more effectively. Sometimes, this boost can cause small, involuntary muscle twitches Show Full Answer
