Very true. I like to be pro-active. Try to learn all I can.
There was a time I would've said yes. But what is your doctor is not an expert in MG?
that's why u decided to read up on MG and learn how to advocate for myself in the doctors office
While I don't make the decision at least I'm aware of what they are talking about and I can go through my chart dx pretty well now.
Also is rather be referred to an expert than depend on my red m regular neuro. Although we could learn together my dx can't wait that long.
Iโm off of it too now due to increasing my blood glucose level through the roof. Itโs a wonder drug cleared up all my MG symptoms but needed to be weaned off of it. As I was being weaned I went on cellcept and continued my mestinon and all is still good! No symptoms came back - only still have fatigue and some muscle weakness so I rest.
Hi Ken - i was just diagnosed in May. I just mainly had occular issues, and they started me on 20mg prednisone and now I only take 10mg and I am still doing fine. I was prescribed Mestinon but havent needed it yet. So far I have tolerated the prednisone OK, but at first I was pretty jittery at 20. Hope you fair as well.
I'm better today on increased mestinon. Take care and good luck in the hospital. Praying for you. Just went through all that recently.๐๐
