Members discussed managing leg and arm cramps related to myasthenia gravis, with a strong consensus that muscle relaxers are not safe for MG because they work against the medications used to build muscle strength. Several members shared natural remedies that worked for them, including drinking a shot of dill pickle juice, taking a spoonful of spicy mustard, and monitoring magnesium levels. A recurring theme was to always check with your neurologist first, and one member noted that pickle juice should be avoided by those with high blood pressure.

Before I Knew I had MG I had muscle cramps at night - a friend recommended pickle juice worked wonders. I don’t seem to have those cramps anymore.

Hi Jay
My understanding over the years people with myasthenia gravis should never take muscle relaxers.
Always double check with your neurologist.
I had severe muscle cramping in my legs at night and I figured out that I needed to keep my magnesium levels low and then they went away. I tried for a couple of years. I had them so severe . I had all kinds of tests. Doctors couldn't tell me what the problem was.
That's when I got on here and I was looking for answers.
Johanna said her neurologist told her to keep her magnesium levels low.
So I decided to check that out and she was absolutely right.
Check your magnesium levels and see where they are.
I keep mine at 1.6 1.7 barely on the line of being normal
It's worth checking out.
I hope that you can find some answers.
I hope this helps. Good luck. God bless you.
Kay
