Back before I was dx'd with MG i was dx'd with arthritis in my hands and later on carpal tunnel also.
Muscle weakness is what attributed to both.
I wore wrist braces at first but you have to wash them every other day then I tried chondrotin glucosamine and it helped but the arthritis was winning. I found magnetic bracelets on Amazon. About 15 yrs ago now maybe longer. I can't say they work for everyone but with my combination of vitamin supplements and these bracelets I wear everyday now I haven't had any problems. I can feel the difference if I go without wearing them even for one day. The tightness and the pain overnight comes back fast.
I've also switched to an anti inflammatory diet since last year 2025
We have to find that combination of things that work for us individually.
MG hits different on all of us
I hope I helped a little.

Very interesting. I have arthritis in both thumbs and carpal tunnel in my dominant hand. 40 yrs of IT work. Had steroid shots worked for a week. Have braces that I use at night. I will discuss with my neurologist this week. But will look at red light therapy and magnetic bracelets.

Johanna, they have me wearing braces now plus they gave me steroids shots. It helped for a few days, but the pain came right back. My neurologist is very concerned about the hand surgeon doing surgery to get rid of the inflammation. He did do nerve test & he said my nerve readings was very good & he doesn't want anything to make it worse. Where did you find the magnetic bracelets?

Keep smiling & keep shining🙂

How does having tendonitis and carpal tunnel affect myasthenia gravis?

These conditions aren't directly linked to MG, but they can add to the physical challenges already faced. MG causes muscle weakness and fatigue, and having additional sources of pain or limited movement in the hands and wrists can make daily tasks even harder.

Here's what's worth keeping in mind:

- MG-related muscle fatigue can make pain from tendonitis feel more intense
- Weakness in the hands and arms is already common with MG, so carpal tunnel symptoms may overlap and be harder to distinguish
- Long-term steroid use (sometimes prescribed for MG) can contribute to joint and tendon issues, so it's worth discussing this with your doctor

It's really important to talk to your healthcare provider about managing all of these together, so treatments don't interfere with each other — especially since some pain medications or anti-inflammatories may need to be carefully considered alongside MG medications.
