Are you experiencing back spasms and looking for ways to manage them?

Back spasms and muscle cramps can be really uncomfortable. Here are some strategies that have helped other MGteam members find relief:

Temperature therapy:
- Try applying ice packs to the affected area to help numb discomfort and reduce any swelling
- If cold doesn't work for you, use a heating pad instead to increase blood flow and reduce cramping
- Be mindful with heat therapy though, as getting overheated can sometimes worsen MG symptoms

Movement and massage:
- Gentle stretching exercises can help reduce muscle discomfort
- Massage the affected muscles to improve blood flow and release tension
- Consider seeing a chiropractor who understands MG and can provide appropriate stretching exercises

One MGteam member shared: "I go to the chiropractor every three weeks. He knows I have MG, so he gave me some stretching exercises to do every day. He said it's important to keep moving those muscles."

The key is finding what works best for your body. Some people respond better to cold, others to heat, and many find that combining stretching with massage provides the most relief.
