One of the questions asks if you have trouble brushing your hair. That has always been a no. However, in the last six weeks I have dislocated both shoulders, should I answer yes? Even though the dislocations were probably weakened muscles, I feel this will be temporary until I can get better range of motion

Should you answer yes to having trouble brushing your hair after dislocating both shoulders?

The MG-ADL questionnaire is designed to capture your current functional abilities, regardless of the underlying cause. If you're currently having difficulty brushing your hair due to the shoulder dislocations, answering "yes" would accurately reflect your present situation.

Even though you believe this limitation is temporary, the questionnaire measures how you're functioning right now. This gives your healthcare team a complete picture of your current status and helps them understand all the factors affecting your daily activities.

Here's what to consider:

* The MG-ADL is meant to track your symptoms at the time you're taking it
* Your shoulder dislocations, even if related to muscle weakness from MG, are currently limiting your ability to perform this task
* Being honest about current difficulties helps your doctor make better treatment decisions

It might be helpful to mention the shoulder dislocations to your healthcare provider when discussing your MG-ADL score. This context helps them understand whether changes in your score reflect MG progression or other factors like your recent injuries.

As your range of motion improves, future questionnaires will reflect that progress.

Hi Cindy!
Is there any way that you can answer these questions and give a explanation?
I wouldn't know how to answer question either.

I would answer yes. I had double shoulder pain for 4 straight months and was weary of doing anything. even after my shoulder pain dissipated. Less stress is less stress

I guess you just answer the ADL as best you can. My gripe about the test is there is no questions about generalized fatigue. But it is the only test my Doctor uses. Sorry, not much help. They don't allow explanation or quantification. For example,, the answer is the same if I have eye droopiness once a day or several times a day.
