What is your average MG-ADL score, and does anyone else feel frustrated that fatigue isn't included?
It's completely understandable to feel frustrated that fatigue isn't captured in the MG-ADL scale, especially when it's your worst symptom. Many people with MG share this concern since fatigue can be so debilitating.
The MG-ADL scale measures eight specific symptoms on a 0-3 scale:
* Talking weakness
* Chewing weakness
* Swallowing weakness
* Breathing difficulty
* Weakness brushing teeth/combing hair
* Weakness standing from sitting
* Double vision
* Eyelid droop
Your score of 8-11 indicates moderate to significant symptom burden. For context, minimal symptom expression is defined as a score of 0-1, and some studies suggest people feel "well enough" around a score of 2.
Since fatigue impacts you so significantly, it's worth discussing this specifically with your neurologist. While it's not formally part of the MG-ADL, your doctor can still track it and adjust your treatment plan accordingly. Some treatment approaches may help address fatigue even if it's not directly measured by the scale.
