l have read several studies that indicate incontinence can be MG related. I became incontinent at the same time I developed a droopy eyelid. Three months later I was diagnosed with MG. I don't think it is a coincidence and my neurologist agrees
I find now that I’m off the prednisone I can hold it a lot better during the day. I do however, get up 3 to 5 times a night to pee. Which is quite annoying because we’re supposed to try and get a good nights sleep, but how do I get a good nights sleep if I constantly have to get up to go to the bathroom it’s a no-win situation
Yes. And ain't nothing I can do about it.😒 I'm really hoping to be taking off of it this year🙏🏿
I have the same problem, I am on mestinon . I was told by neuromuscular dr that was because of MG
Morning, just weighing in on my own personal experience. I had been complaining of incontinence for awhile with my PCP, then my Neurologist. My Neurologist referred me back to my PCP who did a quick UTI ck that was negative. I was getting up every night and running to the bathroom during the day, it became a problem. Turns out I had a mass the size of a small bowling ball pressing on my bladder and other organs. Recent surgery removed the benign mass and my bladder is getting back to normal.
That being said I do think that the combination of some of the multiple meds we are on can effect our bladders.
It is a hard call as we all present symptoms so varied and not a lot of data for us with “snowflake disease" because, like snowflakes, no two cases are identical, with symptoms, severity, and treatment.
This makes this MGteam connection with others all the more important so we can share and support each other in this journey.
