Members shared mixed guidance from their neurologists about taking multivitamins containing magnesium while managing myasthenia gravis, with some doctors approving low doses like the 12% found in Centrum and others strictly prohibiting any magnesium supplementation, suggesting recommendations may vary based on MG severity or subtype. Several members emphasized the importance of carefully reading labels to avoid magnesium stearate fillers in vitamins and probiotics, noting that magnesium-free options exist but cost more, while others pointed out that magnesium is already present in many foods. A recurring theme was that MG affects everyone differently, so what works for one person may not work for another, making it essential to follow your own doctor's specific advice and stay vigilant about checking ingredients.

I can't take no magnesium in any thing , mostly magnesium stearate in vitamins are a filler and they do make them with out magnesium they are a little more expensive , probiotics have some with out magnesium , you just have to shop around and read labels❤

I was told no magnesium, its already in many things that you eat. I do get bad muscle cramps in my lower legs early in the morning, which is why I asked about it. For the cramps I use a massage gun & heat.

That’s what my Dr said too 12% is a low dose - it’s fine to take. I think they’re concerned with supplements.
