Is low blood pressure a symptom of myasthenia gravis when standing up?
Low blood pressure and feeling faint when standing up aren't typical symptoms of myasthenia gravis itself. MG primarily affects voluntary muscles, causing weakness that worsens with activity and improves with rest.
The unbalanced feeling and fear of fainting when you stand up could be related to:
* Side effects from MG medications, particularly corticosteroids
* A separate condition called orthostatic hypotension (low blood pressure when standing)
* Dehydration or other factors unrelated to MG
It's really important to discuss these symptoms with your doctor right away. While they may not be directly caused by MG, they could be related to your treatment or indicate something else that needs attention. Your healthcare team can help determine what's causing these episodes and how to manage them safely.
In the meantime, try standing up slowly from sitting or lying positions, and make sure you're staying well-hydrated.

I noticed I had very low blood pressure and I have MG take Mestinon 3 a day 60mg and one 180mv extended. Plus take a statin Rosuvastatin 40mg at night. I make sure I have an hour between statin and 180mg Mestinon. One time I took both at same time and was dizzy each time I got up to pee.
