I have no idea if it’s my three anxiety disorders or the shortness of breath portion of MG. For example, I get anxious quite often and will hyperventilate, but it’s nothing like the air hunger I get randomly. My lungs just seem to need more oxygen.
An oxygen for home may be helpful. I have one since my crisis. Talk to your Doctor as it could help or even prevent a crisis which could be life threating. Wishing best.
Call your neuro this could be serious
I’ve never had a thymectomy, no. My breathing issues started at a young age, but not asthmatic or anything like that. I had shortness of breath before developing MG too, and it’s just made it worse. For example, I was at a small party with my sister, brother, and her best friend. They were cracking me up so hard I was gasping for air and my poor brother had to hold me before I collapsed from a lack of breath.
Did you ever have a thymectomy? I developed sleep apnea soon after my thymectomy. I occasionally still experience episodes that feel like "apneas" or "skipping or missing a breath" while I am sleepy but still very much awake.
Yes I do and I’ve been told I have a breathing pattern disorder but I fear something else is wrong because I get breathless even whilst sitting down and air hunger hope you get yours sorted soon x
