I have a slight curvature of my lower spine. Slight. But when I had a flare up it felt like my whole back was on fire. I have sense done mild stretch exercises that help with my posture. At my age 65, it's all about staying limber.

Can myasthenia gravis cause scoliosis?

Myasthenia gravis doesn't directly cause scoliosis. MG primarily causes muscle weakness rather than structural changes to the spine or bones.

However, the muscle weakness from MG could potentially affect posture over time. When muscles aren't working properly, it can change how someone moves and holds their body, which might put extra strain on the skeletal system.

If you're experiencing back or spine concerns alongside your MG symptoms, it's worth discussing with your doctor. They can help determine if these issues are related to your condition or if there's another cause that needs attention.

Managing muscle weakness through your MG treatment plan and working with a physical therapist can help maintain better posture and movement patterns.
