Yes, treatment can still work effectively for seronegative MG. While seronegative MG means common antibodies (AChR or MuSK) aren't detected in blood tests, the symptoms and treatment approaches remain similar to other types of MG.

It's worth noting that seronegative status may sometimes be due to limitations in current testing methods. Newer, more precise testing methods like cell-based assays have shown that some previously diagnosed seronegative patients actually had detectable antibodies. Research shows that early treatment (within six months of first symptoms) leads to better outcomes. While waiting for a diagnosis can be challenging, doctors continue to discover new antibodies and improve diagnostic processes. The key is working with your healthcare provider to find the right treatment plan for your specific symptoms, regardless of antibody status.

I am Seronegative as well & yes I responded well to treatment. After diagnosis my MG was able to be controlled by adding Mestinon & Lyrica. I was already on Cellcept for my other autoimmune diseases. But since the first heatwave of the summer we are throwing everything at my most recent flare. IVIG infusions every 2 weeks & I am also back on steroids for the foreseeable future until my symptoms subside. Fingers crossed. This summer has honestly sucked. The heat hit me hard.
