Hi Georgia
This is my beginning experience.
In March of 2023 I stated having textbook symptoms.
My GP sent me to a bunch of referrals.
Endoscopy specialist, Ear Nose and Throat guy, Swallowing specialist, Ophthalmologist and a Neurologist.
I wish the Ophthalmologist was first on the list because he was the one to suspect, send me for blood work and then diagnose me. I have learned that the eyes are the gateway to the rest of the body and a lot of issues are seen through the eyes.
This all took time because the specialists see you to consult, then they want to do a procedure all the while I had all the gMG symptoms and was getting rather lost.
I believe I saw the Eye Surgeon in June of 2023.
I still had until July 5th to see the Neurologist.
The Neurologist who I saw was not a gMG expert, her expertise was Multiple Sclerosis.
However, that same day she collaborated with a colleague who is expert in gMG, and the two doctors put me on prednisone 20mg once a day
and Mestinon 30mg three times a day for 2 weeks.
After that, increase the dose to 60mg three times a day.
So, I finally because Neurology is busy here did see the Neurologist who I still see to this day and am happy with.
So, March to July, 5 months and I at least had a band aid in place.
It does seem to be forever, and all you need for relief is Prednisone, which you don't want to be on for a long time.
Thank you everyone. Mornings are so so bad I can't breathe and I am very weak can't get up to make coffee. I freak out it's just fear. Brain does not work.

I am on 4 weeks on VYVGART infusions and then 4 weeks off . Like 50 days between cycle starts.
But I have been having what they call Breakthrough symptoms about the 2 nd week of off time.
Now we will look at making off time shorter.
When I get VYVGART I feel great for 2 weeks after the infusion
That's with out more drugs.
I only took prednisone for 2 weeks did nothing not putting my body through any more of it , taking Mestinon it has some side effects but I've experimented and found out what keeps it under control for me with more drugs❤
