My PT person was on vacation so I was using someone else for the past week and a half. She made a comment to me because I was getting tired of doing some exercises that she can’t do her work when I get tired needless to say she’s not coming anymore, and my PT person is back from vacation.
She did teach me some new exercises which I’m grateful for but still……
Carol that was one of my first symptoms I was waiting in line to get my tag for my car people thought I was drunk because my steps was taking me sideways and now decades later I’m very careful how I step not tripping over my feet
I hope your doctor addresses this issue
Therapist have devices that can assist your steps if necessary
After finally finding a PT group that has a clue on mg symptoms and understanding that all bets are off from the perspective of knowing there really isn’t a light at the end of the tunnel, unlike recuperating from a bone broke or surgery, have begun efforts to try and strengthen leg and arm muscles to make sure I still have them during remission times (which I’m hoping in itself is something to still look forward to). What folks have a hard time understanding is that you can have sumo wrestler size muscles, but until your nerve signals are unblocked from telling your muscles what to do, no matter how strong the muscles are they become pretty useless. Important to note though that rest becomes more important with PT, due to a much quicker fatigue. The hardest part was finding an understanding PT person, allowing flexibility in scheduling when the unforeseen fatigue takes over. Hoping this will result in less floor time and more up time:)
Yes my balance is bad and walking is difficult. I definitely have to use my Rollator outside or I am afraid to fall. I get dizzy alot more now also.
People who don't have MG cannot relate to everything we go through.
Even the doctors don't.
Our brains and bodies are complex.
This affects our life. It's a "new normal " which is just terrible as far as I'm concerned. MG stole my life.
Today im angry with MG.
😕
Don't let anyone tell you its in your head as in mental health issues.....its not mental health its our transmitter that doesn't let our muscles work normally.
It is in your head but it isn’t your mental health it is the chemical reactions. When your muscles are being affected, your whole body is affected. It is hard for someone who isn’t experiencing what you are to understand what is truly happening. I am sure you have run into Doctors who have waved off your symptoms. We as a human race know so little about how the body works. They may know the mechanicals or the clinical but when it doesn’t fit into that they can’t understand it. They make excuses that it is in your head meaning mental disease. Don’t ever accept that, find some other Doctor who has more knowledge.
