I'm very suddenly having strings of PVCs along with chest cramping that leaves me short of breath as well as lightheaded and dizzy. Went to the ER last Monday night with a blood pressure of 221/112. My legs were so weak I could barely stand. Had a normal blood test and chest xray but an abnormal EKG with lots of PVCs. Doctor sent me back home with a BP of 195/102 and told me to follow up with my PCP. My weakness improved with rest. Could this somehow be related to MG?

Members rallied around a question about whether heart problems like PVCs, high blood pressure, and weakness could be linked to generalized MG, with many sharing that they have experienced similar frightening symptoms. A recurring theme was frustration with ER visits that ended in dismissal, and members stressed the importance of self-advocacy, bringing an informed support person, and seeking hospitals with MG experience. Several members offered practical tips like carrying disease information, making symptom lists for appointments, and knowing which medications to avoid, such as beta blockers and muscle relaxers.

I feel the same way about ER visits. Ours used to be so good too. Such a shame to see quality care go down the drain and we're the ones who suffer!!!

Geez alit if us have problems with ER
It's scary because what can we do? Sometimes I feel like im dying but still refuse to go there after 3 times and no help or very little.
Today I was bad I thought my heart was going to give out....I struggle to decide what to do. I rode it out and now its almost midnight and im feeling a bit better. (That's how much I DO NOT like ER)

Blessings to you all ๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿ™Œ

I definitely know what you mean Roberta. I'm waiting to see my neurologist in December as well. It makes me nervous having to wait 6 months or more for just a 15-minute office visit.......things can happen so fast with MG. Wishing you good health and a really good visit with your neuro when you see him or her. Let's keep in touch! โค๏ธ

I feel the same way about going to the ER. They just don't know enough about MG and that scares me. When I had surgery last December, the surgical team was great and took the time to make sure I would be okay from a Myasthenia standpoint but it was a totally different story when I was out on the floor in a regular room. If I had not been alert enough to know, they would have given me meds that I cannot take because of the MG. They almost gave me muscle relaxers. One of them was a doctor. I just pray that I am never in a position where I cannot speak for myself.
