I can often tell that my face is drooping when others don't see it. I think it's partly because when we look at someone, we usually see their face as a whole and don't notice subtle differences in the details. When we look at our own face in a mirror, we tend to see every "flaw." If your daughter is like me, she can probably feel the difference in muscle strength and tension when there's a change, and because of that feeling she knows exactly where to look. It may be that one eyebrow is slightly lower than the other or that one side of her mouth doesn't rise the same distance as the other when she smiles. We sometimes see and are aware of things about ourselves that are harder for others to see.
Hope that your daughter and you are doing well. Wishing all the best for both of you! ❀️ wm

MG can cause one-sided facial weakness, which may make your smile or facial expression appear uneven or droopy on one side. Because these changes can be subtle and gradual, it's easy to miss them in yourself. A few things worth knowing:

- Facial weakness in MG can come and go, often getting worse at the end of a long day or when you're tired
- Sometimes only one side of the face is affected
- The changes can be subtle enough that even technology is now being used to detect them

It's a good idea to mention this to your healthcare provider, as they can assess whether your facial symptoms need any adjustment to your current treatment plan.

my left eye feels only half open to me but others notice only a small difference. The nerve receptors from the brain can play tricks. Sounds like your daughter is looking for answers - why is this happening? Hope all goes well, cheers Trev B

Hi Johanna. My facial changes are often very subtle. My hubby usually notices very well if something is off. My left eye that has the double vision sometimes is centered strangely compared to other eyeball. Take care.πŸ™‚πŸ˜‡πŸ™
