I used a CPAP machine for years, but I started getting severe sinus infections. Ended up having 5 sinus surgeries. And developing fungus Aspergillosis fumigatus. Most people are resistant and inhaling everyday. But not me it also attacks my organs. It’s living in my blood, lungs etc. not sure where else. I now have chronic sinusitis, every couple months.
Since I found out a couple months ago while in the hospital. One nurse noticed I stopped breathing while sleeping. And my O2 dropped below 80, so now I use oxygen every night.

Fatigue in MG comes in two main forms:
- Muscle-specific fatigue — where particular muscles tire out with use (like arm or eye muscles)
- Whole-body fatigue — a deep, crushing exhaustion not tied to any one muscle group
As one MGteam member described it: *"There's the fatigue of specific muscles... and there is the whole-body fatigue... a kind of crushing weariness that's relieved only by a long night's sleep."* Fatigue can persist even when MG is well-controlled or in remission, so it's worth tracking patterns. Some practical strategies include:
- Taking rest breaks during tasks
- Scheduling heavier activities earlier in the day when energy is higher
- Tracking when fatigue is worst and sharing that log with your neurologist
- Discussing CPAP compliance and sleep quality with your doctor, as breathing difficulties can worsen overall exhaustion
If daytime sleepiness is significantly impacting daily life, your healthcare team may suggest adjustments to your treatment plan, including medication changes or adding physical therapy.
