Vagus nerve stimulation for generalized myasthenia gravis (gMG) is an interesting area, but it isn't among the currently established or widely used treatments for gMG. It's still largely in early research stages, so there isn't a lot of shared experience from the MG community on this yet.

The treatments that are currently recognized for gMG include:

- Pyridostigmine (Mestinon) โ€“ helps nerves and muscles communicate better
- Immunosuppressants โ€“ like prednisone or azathioprine, to calm the immune system
- Targeted therapies โ€“ such as efgartigimod (Vyvgart), eculizumab (Soliris), or rozanolixizumab (Rystiggo)
- IVIG or plasma exchange โ€“ for managing flares or severe symptoms
- Thymectomy โ€“ surgical removal of the thymus gland

If vagus nerve stimulation is something being considered or recommended, it would be really worth having a detailed conversation with a neurologist who specializes in MG, as treatment plans are highly personalized based on antibody status, symptom severity, and overall health.
