Members rallied around someone feeling nervous before a thymus gland removal with full sternotomy, offering warm encouragement and helpful recovery tips. Several members shared their own thymectomy experiences, noting that recovery can take up to eight months and that using extra pillows for comfort and coughing makes a big difference. A recurring theme was the importance of patience, accepting help from loved ones, and not rushing healing, paired with genuine hope and celebration as the original poster shared positive updates weeks after surgery.

Thank you ,I’m 3 x weeks past my op and my pain is getting better providing,I don’t do anything to stretch,or aggravate my sternum.
I’m feeling good from the rest I’m having which gives me the desire to get moving (I don’t like being still ,it seems)
