I have ocular and generalised mg,treated with prednisone, mestinion ,Ivig and zilbrqs sc. .My strenght is not good .The results are from one test to be repeated in 3 weeks
I had my thymus removed bc it had a growth on it. That has been 4 mo ago. While a thymectomy is listed as a form of treatment for MG, I recently had an ocular flare up even though I do have MGg generalized which was causing slurred speech and generally tongue issues. So had to have the thymectomy but it doesn't appear to have helped with my MGg. There is documentation to support not having the surgery especially over a certain age. The thymus plays a significant and important role in immune function. Do your own research. If I had not had the growth, I am not sure I would have. Do your own research on the subject!
My doctor ays I should have my thymus gland removed, even thought I’m 65 ,is this suitable
That's a lot to be managing at once — ocular and generalized MG alongside thyroid concerns is genuinely a lot on your plate. Thyroglobulin (Tg) levels and thyroid nodules are really something your doctor needs to interpret in full context, so waiting for that repeat test in 3 weeks is the right move.
