I have to tell you. Thank you, thank you, thank you. There was a comment that you made.
You said your doctor said to keep your magnesium very low. That stuck in my mind and I thought about it for a while and decided to test that theory. I didn't have any problems with cramps and twitching when my magnesium was very low and as I started to increase my magnesium levels slowly very slowly over time twitching began and then the cramps.
Yes, yes ,yes my magnesium levels have been all over the place. My numbers have been 1.9, 1.8, 2.1, 2.3. lately... I've tried to keep them up in the normal range, trying to get all my magnesium from food .but I have found that if I keep my magnesium borderline 1.7 my twitching and cramps are gone. Normal ranges are 1.6 to 2.6 for normal people. I find that if I keep mine at a 1.6 - 1.7 very low My twitching and my cramps in my legs have subsided substantially.
I hope that other people out there that are having these problems. Check your magnesium levels if I can find an answer to some of these problems that people have, please try this. That has made the world of difference for me
Even if you have cramping in your hands or other parts of your body, get your magnesium tested.

And the magnesium and iron. Sorry I forgot that part
Hi Elizabeth!
Yeah magnesium's not good. I had been on it a couple of years cuz my numbers were so low and last May it almost put me into a crisis so That's not an option for me anymore.
So what I have been reading lately is that it could be the prednisone that I'm taking that doesn't let me absorb the potassium so I pee it out and I deplete it.
My kidney doctor says drink more water. Oh yeah, drink more water. Every time I drink more water I pee more and every time I pee more I lose electrolytes and magnesium. So what do you do?.
Careful with magnesium all the literature says it can cause flares. The article on this site tells foods that have magnesium. I don't know any more than that
