Thanks Jean
You need to be very careful with drugs and supplements. Combinations can cause issues and liver problems. I set up an account with Drugs.com and use their interaction checker to check for interaction between my MG meds and any other prescription, OTC and supplements.
I went through all of mine a while back and eliminated the ones that would hinder or interact with my medication or cause a flare up. Good thing to do.
I have to agree with MGTEAM on this one.
I take cellcept (mycophenalate and mestinon) and ashwaganda and cellcept would be a dogfight for your immune system.
I know some women are taking ashwaganda to help with their hormones during some stages of menopause but I dont know how helpful it it is.
Definitely speak with your ob/gyn and neurologist if you're having pre/menopausal or post menopausal hormone issues.
I saw My pcp and neurologist and had labs done in the past week. And my neuro is looking at my lymphocytes because they are high. I had three vaccinations. 2 weeks ago. Im thinking that could be why my lymphocytes are high. Because I got a boost of antibodies in my system. My lymphocytes are treating it as an infection. Because I don't normally have antibodies.
What a vicious cycle.
I dont know if my body will ever make and keep antibodies. I have to go back and see my neuro and pcp in 6 months. And do more labs in 2 weeks.
Meanwhile mask up you guys.
Its flu season now.
Is ashwagandha safe to take with myasthenia gravis, and is it beneficial?
Unfortunately, the available information doesn't specifically address ashwagandha's safety or benefits for people with MG. This is an important gap because ashwagandha is known to have immune-modulating effects, and MG is an autoimmune condition.
