Because I was/am dealing with ocular issues with MG, I see a neuro- ophthalmologist every year. He saw right away the improvement in my eyes with ptosis , double & blurred vision the improvement my new meds are making.

I was wondering the same Kim. I've noticed that my vision is better some days than others. Some days I see better without my glasses. I have an eye exam scheduled for May, but if that's a bad day, what to do?

Are annual eye exams difficult with myasthenia gravis?
Annual eye exams themselves aren't necessarily more difficult, but they are especially important when living with MG. Regular eye exams help monitor vision and eye health, particularly since ocular symptoms can fluctuate.
The exam itself might feel more challenging on days when symptoms are worse. Vision can change from day to day - some days seeing fine with glasses, other days not so great, and sometimes not needing glasses at all. Scheduling the exam for when energy levels are typically higher might help.
It's worth keeping up with these regularly scheduled exams. They can help determine if any vision changes are related to MG or if something else might be going on. An eye care provider can also discuss helpful tools like prism lenses, eyelid tape, or other devices that might make daily activities easier.
If double vision, ptosis, or eye fatigue make the exam uncomfortable, let the eye care provider know. They can work with you to make adjustments during the appointment.
