I add salt to water. It pulls the dirt down and if there are any bugs it kills them! Learned from my mother in law. Of course after I let them soak I soak them a second time without the salt and thats when they are ready!!

I fully support the MGTEAM response. Over This past summer I switched over to an anti-inflammatory diet which consisted of a lot of Fresh fruits and vegetables I began having fresh fruits with boiled egg in the morning with avocado slices with a protein In the afternoon I have a smoothie Filled with fresh fruit, almond milk and a yogurt shot for my probiotic, in the evening I have fish, Or chicken with rice or sauteed potatoes and vegetables. I snack on seeds like sunflower kernels, less salt. I can't have the green leaf vegetables or peanuts because I take cellcept but it has all brought me to where I am right now. I really appreciate the MGTEAM for all those great articles that we can read a use and put into our daily living. it has really helped me get my MG symptoms into remission.

How do inflammation and foods relate to managing myasthenia gravis?

Certain foods can help reduce inflammation in the body, which may be beneficial when living with MG. Anti-inflammatory foods support immune balance and overall health.

Foods that may help reduce inflammation include:

- Omega-3 fatty acids: Found in salmon, flaxseeds, and walnuts, these help lower inflammation and support immune balance
- Avocados: Rich in anti-inflammatory monounsaturated fats and provide soluble fiber for digestion
- Curcumin (turmeric): A strong anti-inflammatory compound that may help balance the immune system and reduce swelling
- Fresh fruits and vegetables: Support a healthy gut microbiome and provide antioxidants

Incorporating these foods into your diet can be a natural way to support your body while managing MG. Some, like turmeric, can easily be added as a spice to meals and beverages.

It's helpful to focus on whole, fresh foods rather than processed options, which can sometimes increase inflammation in the body.

To wash leafy greens, soak them in a large bowl of cold water, swish gently to loosen dirt, lift them out (letting grit sink), then rinse thoroughly and dry with a salad spinner or Towel
