Getting that checked out to rule out serious issues at the ER is smart and best first step. But for me that is an MG symptom - my body's warning system to take a break. I get an achy band around me chest, and if it is really bothersome a bit of mestinon tends to settle it down for me these days.
Hello Cynthia,
I felt tightness and pain just under my breasts that felt like I’d been hit with an ax! The next day I was choking on water. I was admitted for an MG exasperation, given 2 days of IVIG then came home. If you feel you’re not taking good strong breaths, if your breathing is shallow, please get to the E.R. ASAP. The Neurologist I saw said I was a day away from a vent. Please take care of yourself!! 🙏🙏
Hey that is never a good sign. Call urgent care right away or go to the e.r
Be well.

Hi Cynthia,
How are you doing today? I am not a medical doctor but ask, is your chest tightness making it difficult to breathe? If you are having difficulty, please don’t delay and visit your local hospital’s emergency department.
You should raise this with your neurologist and/or your primary care for sure.
Please let us know how you are doing in the time ahead.
If you experience chest tightness with MG, it's important to contact your neurologist or neurology team immediately as this could be a serious symptom requiring medical attention.
