Johanna where did you read that? I take 1000 of cellcept and have never seen that.
What are some magnesium-rich food alternatives for people taking CellCept who can't eat nuts, greens, or dairy?
Some magnesium-rich alternatives include
- Shredded wheat cereal
- Soymilk
- Black beans
- Pumpkin seeds (if seeds are tolerated) Important safety note: Always check medication labels, as magnesium is found in Show Full Answer
After doing some research certain foods will interfere with the absorption of cellcept. It's recommended to take cellcept on an empty stomach one hour before eating or after.
Hi Johanna, you might ask your prescribing doctor if there was intended exclusion of all these nourishing foods or maybe the critical issue is not eating meals with it. Usually the recommendation is to take this medicine on an empty stomach so it works more effectively. I remember this guidance when I took CellCept.
Also CellCept is used for a variety of diseases. Maybe the food recommendations are for a specific health condition?
Hope helpful
Update:
Yes those foods can inhibit the absorption rate of the medicine. I found a 40mg dose of magnesium citrate on Amazon. That was the lowest dose I could find and that was the only precursor the doc gave me.
I really think not eating these foods have helped the cellcept work in me. Besides. I can never remember when to take it before or after I eat. So i take it first thing in the a.m. and 2 hours ๐, hopefully before dinner. Lol. So thats working for me.
