Finding the right doctor who understands myasthenia gravis can be challenging. While waiting for specific doctor recommendations, here are some tips from MGteam members:

• Ask your primary care physician for referrals to neurologists who specialize in neuromuscular conditions
• Contact major medical centers/teaching hospitals in your area as they often have MG specialists
• Check with your insurance provider for in-network specialists
• Consider traveling to larger cities if local options are limited Remember that while other members can share their experiences finding doctors, your medical journey is unique. Take time to research potential doctors and prepare questions for your appointments. The right healthcare provider should be willing to partner with you in managing your MG care.

Go to resources in the menu above and just ask a question there too. Resources is one. Q&A will get information right away.
There are doctors on her to consult and advocate for you to get a doctor.
I hope this helps.

Thank you...a search last night found a specific center and. Specific Dr. .I wrote that info down, somewhere. It was something like, center for difficult neuromuscular disorders and the Dr specialized in overlapping diseases; diseases like mine, general dystonia with myasthnia gravis. Just a name 200

Seek out and search for a Neurologist with either a focus in MG or Neuromuscular. There are some MG sites that also have search tools to help you locate the nearest one in your area.

You know somehow I remain hopeful despite having been turned away multiple times. The hard thing is I am afraid to keep searching as being turned away hurts. The one symptom I hate is the difficulty breathing. Scary. One Dr put in a referral for PT, but they won't call me back. If I did not have an overlapping disease, GDystonia, it would be much easier I'm sure. The other symptom I hate is the brain fog, oh my gosh...really. but as long as I still know my name, I'm good.
