Where did you have to go that was such a long drive
I am part of the Descartes-08 drug trial and I can say it's wonderful. For 9 months I was symptom free but I came down with an infection that appears to have destroyed the Descartes-08 drug. My symptoms returned and I began losing everything I gained. Once I was weak enough they let me give the drug another go around. On 6/24 they harvested my cells again and in a couple of weeks it should be ready for my six weekly infusions of my drug.
Yes! There is exciting research happening with T-cell therapy for MG. A recent early trial showed promising results with a new type of cell therapy called Descartes-08. This treatment modifies a person's own T-cells to target specific proteins involved in the disease process.

I am SNMG and been in the program for over a year. They don't know for sure what caused the relapse but suspect the infection because it happen right afterwards. I believe there were only about 60 people in the Descartes-08 trial in the whole world. Being symptom free for nine months was wonderful and I hope to get back to that point. I do take azathoprine three times a day.
David, thanks for sharing your experience. I have been following this as it truly sounds miraculous. I’ve been on vyvgart for 3 years, and weekly, no cycle for 3 months. It is really good, I have some wonderful almost normal days. But I seem to still need to balance my time. I can go for 2 days 90% normal, but the third I need to chill. Occasionally I have a really bad day, and need to sleep 70% of the time for 24 hours. I am therefore curious if your Descartes treatment and response gave you your old self back, prior to the infection. Did they say why the infection made you relapse? Are you taking any immunosuppressants with the infusions? Because I am doing as well as I am on vyvgart, I would be hesitant to try the trial, tho I am SNMG, are they even taking us ? I will have to wait for FDA approval. But love hearing how it does, p,ease keep us informed as you go back on it.
Thanks
