Muscle weakness in MG can manifest differently for each person. Common experiences include muscle aches, neck pain, and difficulty with activities like walking long distances, standing up from chairs, climbing stairs, or lifting objects. Many notice their strength levels fluctuate throughout the day, often being stronger in the morning and weaker by evening. The weakness typically appears suddenly and can affect various muscle groups including arms, legs, fingers, hands, and neck. A key characteristic is that symptoms tend to improve with rest but worsen with continued activity. Some MGteam members report that factors like hot weather, stress, infections, and menstruation can trigger or worsen their muscle weakness symptoms. With proper treatment, most people with MG can maintain their mobility and remain physically active. While muscle weakness can be challenging, it's important to note that severe weakness requiring full-time wheelchair use is not common when the condition is properly managed.

Hi Michelle! I love your question because I've wondered the same thing. My experience is similar to Mary's. I don't usually get what I would consider to be "neuritic pain" which I think is what you describe in your question. I get a heavy, exhausted feeling in the muscle groups I use, but if I really over-do, it becomes quite painful. I've wondered if strengthening my core would reduce some of the pain in my lower back, but haven't really been motivated enough to find the right exercise to accomplish that. 😉 Maybe if I were younger . . .
Hope your day and the rest of your week are blessed! ❤️ wm
