YES, prednisone will cause weight gain as well as other side effects like moon face and insomnia.

I have been on predisone for about 6 months and have seen weight gain as well, although I needed to gain some weight, so it's a blessing.

I agree no energy to do much

I haven't had IVIG, and only take prednisone when nothing else is working, but I have gained weight since having MG, just because my activity level has decreased so much. Fatigue and double/blurry vision makes it hard to be consistent about an excercise program.
