I was diagnosed sero negative and asked my doctor about retesting to see if I show antibodies now that I have the full diagnosis from just occular. She hesitated and said we don't usually test for antibodies. I wondered if they could find antibodies and know what kind so I might understand my kind of myesthenia too. Perhaps it's because my myesthenia is fairly managed and we are not looking to change my meds any time soon. I just want to know that I have some options when I do need to change medication. Thanks for sharing your experiences.
In the 58 years I’ve had MG, I only know of 3 times I was retested after the initial diagnosis. Those were shortly after I went in to remission, when I came out of remission and lastly as part of my documentation for my permanent disability process.
My neurologist said she goes by symptoms more than that test. The testing was done for initial diagnosis only she’s going to treat me by my symptoms.
I have Seronegative MG. My neurologist tested me twice because she said that test results are often wrong. I think every neurologist has their opinion about diagnosis.
