Stress and cortisol can indeed contribute to weight gain, including belly fat — and managing MG already comes with enough stress without worrying about that too!

When it comes to supplements that are commonly marketed for cortisol or stress relief, many need to be approached carefully with MG. Some popular ones to be cautious about include:

- Echinacea — stimulates the immune system, which can worsen MG symptoms and interfere with immunosuppressants
- Melatonin — can affect the immune system and interact with corticosteroids and immunosuppressants
- High-dose Zinc — may interfere with immunosuppressants like azathioprine or mycophenolate mofetil

Some potentially safer options that may support overall wellbeing include:

- Omega-3 fatty acids — help reduce inflammation and support immune balance
- Curcumin (turmeric) — has anti-inflammatory properties that may help with autoimmune activity
- Vitamin B12 — supports nerve health and may help reduce fatigue

Always check with your neurologist before adding any supplement, as MG medications can have serious interactions. Regarding GLP-1 medications and MG, the available search results don't contain specific information about this combination. It would be best to raise this directly with your neurologist, as they can weigh the benefits against any potential risks specific to your MG treatment plan.
