Thanks, Carol and Kim. I am hoping, as I titrate off of prednisone, that the Cellcept holds strong and continues to keep the ptosis and double vision at bay. As I have titrated down from 40mg a day to 10 mg now it all appears to be well.
You are correct Alice it needs to be gradually decreased. I know with my sugar spikes once I got off from the prednisone it took a while but now my latest blood glucose level with fasting is 106 and my skin tone is better my itchiness has gone away. I’m not happy I lost a lot of hair but my hairdresser says it will grow back can take 6 months.
I’m really annoyed that I have all these side effects from prednisone as I have developed so many side effects,I just want to get off it and it does take some time to get iff it
I was put on 30mg of prednisone, straight off and this was followed by all the other drugs which in combination has worked well for my symptoms, however because I’ve been on prednisone for over 18 months now ,I told my neurologist that ,the prednisone has to stop,so I’m weaning off it as it has caused massive problems such as cataracts, which had to be removed and new lenses put in ,problems with blood sugar and cholesterol levels and also fluid retention and weight gain .For me the side effects of prednisone, outweighs the benefits
Kevin, you and I are on the same schedule. Hope we both pull it off. I'm ready to get off steroids.
