Hi there,I walk early each morning around my neighbourhood at a fairly slow pace ,my husband comes with me and keeps to my pace, sometimes I’m faster than others sometimes I can’t walk as far as others but still try to go even a short distance
I also do stretches an low impact exercises as my muscles have become flabby and I want strength en amd tone up
I believe it would benefit any of us with MG. The determining factor is YOU, and the difficulties you are having. I've seen/ heard of people with MG going back to the gym and exercising intensively but that is where they started- an active life style. My PCP got me neurological physical therapy and it was by far the best thing for me at the time. I learned how to exercise in the parameters of MG, not doing the next five reps but learning progress is minimal exercise then rest, and repeat that.
Have you been in the hospital? Been in flares on the sofa for weeks? Of course on top of MG you will be physically out of shape. Go slow. Start easy. I am working on making one of the many low impact work out apps a regular discipline for myself. Had to stop because I started to flare for other reasons. Did it 2 days in a row, didn't get it done today. But I'm not going to give up or stop trying. I know I'm stronger than I was. And when I do go into a flare it's not so far backwards
For me, I have a great neurologist and I check with her on everything that affects any of my health especially MG, so I recommended asking you doctor and coming up with a plan. This neurologist set me up for regular therapy when I could manage it, and in 8 weeks only twice a week I was no longer on the fall risk chart!
Sorry for the long explanation. Hope I helped
My snMG is very unstable still.
What exercises are good for Myasthenia Gravis (MG)?
Research shows that people with stable MG can benefit from getting 150 minutes of moderate physical activity weekly. Exercise can help strengthen muscles, reduce fatigue, and improve overall quality of life. However, it's crucial to exercise carefully and safely.
