Ladies, especially,
When don't we get a UTI the slightest mishap on a wipe and we get the zpak. 🤦🏾♀️ Men not so much. Infections happen.
I have no antibodies. So I take a shload of vitamin supplements. All approved by all my doctors.
If my doc says go get a vaxx I head straight to Walgreens and report back for the records.. hate it but it is what it is.
Does MG suck sometimes? Yes. But we deal with it.
Stay hopeful 😎
I get infections a lot. I am told by my doctors it is due to using prednisone.
You might take your medication list to your doctors to ask if they suppress your immune system. Then you can follow up with a discussion about recurring infections.
Your doctor puts you on certain meds for a reason. If you have any other autoimmune diseases beyond MG it can be challenging. Discussion with your doctors is best. Sometimes they accept those minor illnesses (sepsis is not minor, but other) so they treat the more harmful diseases.
So best talk to your prescribers to understand how you are feeling. And they need to know how you are feeling.
Good luck Yvett!
Maybe there is an antibiotic for you. Ask your Dr.
Immunosuppressive therapy, which is commonly used to treat myasthenia gravis, can increase your risk of infections because these medications decrease immune system activity. While these treatments are effective at increasing muscle strength and managing MG symptoms, they make you more vulnerable to infections.
