I had to discontinue mestinon. The stomach cramps and diarrhea almost landed me in the hospital. A few weeks later I was admitted for a week and given IVIG to stabilize me. Now I’m on Vyvgart and got through my 1st cycle and doing a little better, I know it will take time to find right meds but I’m keeping a positive attitude.

Try lactaid pills!

Good morning. I am sorry to hear that u are having a bad experience. Are u taking it with food or a small snack. I had to start out like that in the beginning. Now I am okay with taking it without food. Definitely get back with ur doctor. Inform him/ her of ur issues so it can be corrected now. Or at least an alternative is made.

Good morning, Paul. Hope this day is a good one for you! I'm so sorry to hear that you're having such trouble with Mestinon. I've been blessed to have a pretty easy time with it, but would suggest that you call your prescriber's office and talk to someone there about what's going on. There are some alternatives to Mestinon that might work better for you.
Another option would be to decrease your dose and see if that makes a difference, but again, it's probably best to do that under the direction of a Dr.
We have to be our own best advocate, so don't hesitate to be emphatic about what's you're dealing with. Some docs seem to think that if patients aren't doubled over with pain, it's not as bad as you tell them it is, so don't downplay the problem.
